students
Performing well at school doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
To achieve their academic potential, students must feel fulfilled and happy in every area of their lives - social relationships, physical health, self image and sleep are all key components in creating a clear vision for academic and life success.
When these foundation elements are in place, the skills of focus, effective study and optimal learning are able to be taught and generalised to school and home.
I work with students of all ages to clearly define and optimise each of these factors to create the best version of themselves.

OPTIMAL LEARNING STATE
An Optimal Learning State is one in which students are actively engaged in the process of learning and study. Active engagement is critical to taking in, encoding and connecting new information with prior knowledge.
This is enhanced by an understanding of how to optimise the ‘equipment’ of learning: brain modes, working memory, focus and concentration in particular.

STUDY SKILLS
Many students sit down to study without knowing the ‘what’, ‘why’, or ‘how’ of the process. They equate length of study time with success and become disillusioned when this doesn’t result in academic improvement.
The most effective, purposeful, study will be underpinned by a combination of environmental factors, brain science and a Deliberate Practice methodology: ‘I have a clear intention, I have a very effective set of tools, and I am using them with purpose’.
I work with students to model these skills and optimise all of the factors that underpin their effective use.
