parents

One of the most frustrating experiences for any parent is watching a child struggle with learning and motivation. This frustration is often compounded when your ‘well meaning’ advice is ignored.

You can see your child’s potential, and you want to help them realise it, but it sometimes feels like they’re doing everything to undermine their own success rather than the opposite.

I work with individual parents (and speak to parent groups) about how to maximise academic potential without causing conflict.

This includes understanding how and why children and adolescents go through stages of demotivation. The role of executive functioning and brain development. And how to set up home based routines and communication to maximise academic motivation and cognitive performance.
